Below you will find answers to many common questions about 2017 Day of Giving.
Are you experiencing an error on the donation page?
Please delete symbols such as # and &. For example, Apt #31. We have found that this "fixes" most of the processing problems. If your gift form still is not working, please feel free to call us directly at (408) 551-1622.
I made a gift to "Other" Fund, but didn't put a designation. Where will it go?
If you would like to designate it to a specific area of campus, please contact us at psalazar@scu.edu or (408) 551-1622. Otherwise, we will designate it to the Santa Clara Fund.
What is All In for SCU?
All In for SCU is our annual Day of Giving—an inspiring online fundraising event and Bronco rally on March 8, 2017. All gifts made on March 8, between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. PST, will count toward SCU's Day of Giving and winning the big challenges that make up the day.
Why give on March 8, 2017?
Your gift will go further on March 8 and have a bigger impact, thanks to generous Bronco supporters who have funded more than $100,000 in multiple challenges. Your gift to the campus unit or program you care about most can have a double impact. It will give a direct boost to your unit or program. And it can help your unit or program win a share of the day's challenges. Throughout the day, live leaderboards will show progress for the challenges, making it possible to follow along in real time.
Why is it important to be counted in on March 8?
SCU's annual Day of Giving is not a spectator sport. It's all about joining in and being counted. The more Bronco alumni, family, and friends who give, the more who will be inspired to follow. It's that simple. And that's why we call the day All in For SCU.
What are the Day of Giving challenges?
There will be two leaderboard challenges—one with a dollar goal and one with a goal for number of gifts. The challenge funds will be divided among the top-scoring campus units or programs, based on their respective percentage of the totals. Adding to the excitement and fun, special micro-challenges aimed at benefiting specific units or programs will be announced and activated during the day.
Where does my gift go, and where do the challenge funds go?
One hundred percent of your gift goes directly where you designate it: to your college, school, or department; to a program; to scholarships; or to Athletics—whatever matters most to you. And after we meet the two main leaderboard challenges—one with a dollar goal and one with a goal for number of gifts—the challenge funds will be divided among the top-scoring campus units or programs. And after any special micro-challenge goals are met, those funds will be released to the designated units or programs.
How can I make sure my gift counts on SCU's Day of Giving?
On March 8, you can make your gift in one of two ways:
1. Online at givingday.scu.edu (click Give Now), between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. PST.
2. By phone at 408.554.4400, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. PST. In addition, any gifts made through the student call-center between February 22 and March 8 will be counted on the Day of Giving.

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Your gift is tax-deductible, and you will receive an email confirmation as your receipt for tax purposes.
Does my gift count toward my undergraduate reunion class campaign totals?
If you are in the undergraduate classes of 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007, 2012, then YES. All gifts to all areas of campus made by classmates between November 1, 2016 and October 31, 2017 will be counted towards the 2017 reunion campaigns.
Does my gift count toward my annual giving?
Yes. If it is your first gift of the fiscal year (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017), your donation on SCU's Day of Giving will count toward Santa Clara's annual giving participation rate, as well as toward your eligibility for recognition programs, such as the President’s Club and Loyal Broncos.
If you've already given this year, we thank you. We also encourage you to make another gift on SCU's Day of Giving, because only gifts made on March 8 will count toward the day's challenges. Most important, your gift will inspire others to give, too.
Besides giving, how can I help All In for SCU break records?
Let everyone know! Tell your friends, family, and networks that you’ve made a gift, and encourage them to give. Post on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #allinforSCU. Send an email. Make a call.
