Seeking Tomorrow’s Leaders through Community Outreach and Admission Support
As we face the looming enrollment cliff and changing student demographics in California and across the country, your support is crucial in providing prospective students a chance to explore SCU, potentially transforming their lives and paving the way for a brighter future. Our outreach initiatives aim to engage students early in the educational journey – grades 6 to 12 - offering valuable insights into the education, majors, careers, and college options, guiding them through the admission and financial aid process.
Your contribution will support a range of community engagement activities, including but not limited to:
- EmpowerED, in collaboration with SCU’s Latiné Student Union and Igwebuike, promotes college accessibility and assist prospective students in envisioning themselves thriving at SCU.
- Raices Creo en Ti, we educate students and families about the college application process, college life, and various career pathways available to college graduates. Our programming is available in both Spanish and English.
- BEST (Black Excellence Success & Trailblazing) College Prep Program, we foster cultural awareness, pride, and success for all through connections and interactive conversations with college students and professions.
- SCU Health, College & Careers Summit, we encourage students from diverse backgrounds to pursue healthcare careers and advocate for underserved communities. Students connect with Silicon Valley healthcare experts to explore career pathways and personal well-being.
- Latinx Leadership Incubator (LLI), we prepare transfer Broncos for leadership through student-to-student connections, campus resources, and access to Latinx professional leaders in Silicon valley via panels and workshops.
- CA Private College is Possible Initiative, a state-wide collaboration where we aim to increase access to private higher education institutions through coordinated outreach to students, families, and counselors that will provide information and resources needed to make California private college possible.
- SCU Middle School Visit Days, we invite local middle schools to tour the campus, igniting their imagination about college and its possibilities.
These efforts empower students, especially those from under-resourced communities by providing them and their families with vital information to fulfill their college aspirations and secure promising career paths. Your support will help deserving students discover and thrive at SCU while developing into the leaders of tomorrow.
