de Saisset Museum

Discover, experience, and be inspired by all the de Saisset Museum has to offer!

Arts and culture play a vital role in the intellectual and creative lives of Santa Clara University students and our diverse public. The de Saisset Museum offers dynamic educational opportunities that complement and expand their experiences in the classroom. From class visits and course projects, to collaborative and interdisciplinary programs, to direct work experience, the de Saisset offers engagement points for students across diverse departments and majors.

In the current academic year, faculty from Art History, Studio Art, Anthropology, English, Environmental Studies, Ethnic Studies, Religious Studies, and other SCU departments have integrated our exhibitions and collections into their courses. In the fall, the de Saisset opened an exhibition that was curated by SCU Art History majors as an expansion of their senior capstone project. We also introduced the campus to a new commemorative kiosk developed in collaboration with the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area with faculty and students from the Departments of Anthropology and English. Currently, the de Saisset is working on exciting projects with the Child Studies department and the School of Engineering.

As a center of lifelong learning, the de Saisset Museum supports Santa Clara University’s goal of educating the whole person. We hope you will donate to these efforts.

This year, contributions to our Discretionary Fund will support our exciting fall 2024 exhibition featuring the work of Julia Haft-Candell, inclusive of a unique library installation in our gallery featuring books that invited Los Angeles and Bay Area artists regard as meaningful and influential publications to their own artistic practices. These books will be accessible to everyone visiting the museum.

Donations to the California History Fund enable us to continue to expand the exhibition California Stories and its related resources for SCU students and the greater community, including our California History Docent Program. Your contributions to the Inouye Fund help support future temporary exhibitions and your gifts to the de Saisset Museum Endowment will help us build capacity.

Your financial support of the de Saisset Museum on this Day of Giving ensures we can continue presenting dynamic, thought-provoking exhibitions and educational programs, as well as deepening connections with our collection of nearly 12,000 objects of art & history.
