SCU's Only Middle Eastern and North African Club!
The Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) Club serves to celebrate and promote the awareness of the diverse cultures of the Middle East and North Africa through educational, cultural, and social programs. We are hoping to raise money through donations for the many events that we hold throughout the year. For instance, MENA holds a culture show every spring, in which students are able to display their many talents as well as share important aspects of their culture with the greater SCU community. Past shows have included belly dancing, fashion shows, stand-up comedy, poetry, and more. Other programming includes our annual MENA-giving, which is an off-campus potluck style thanksgiving dinner and club members are encouraged to bring dishes from their respective cultures!
Our club also focuses heavily on supporting social justice causes in the MENA region as well as supporting community members in the local Bay Area. Our club has also implemented the MENA Flourishing Fund (MFF), which is meant as a way to provide financial support to MENA students on campus.
