Santa Clara University's Student-Run Economics Association
The SCU Economics Student Association is a student-led organization dedicated to offering networking opportunities to economics majors and minors in both the College of Arts and Sciences and the Leavey School of Business. The association organizes informal and formal events and activities that are designed to help students build relationships with professors, alumni, potential employers, and each other.
During the 2022-2023 school year, ESA put on a series of events geared toward students. We have organized and hosted several events in line with the ESA's mission, aiming to provide a platform for socially aware, engaged and future-oriented students to connect and build relationships not only amongst themselves, but with professors, established business professionals and thought leaders in various industries. From social events with recruiters, to trivia nights with professors or seminars with industry-experienced Alumni, we continuously offer opportunities to build relationships and gain valuable insights that will last well past graduation.
Last spring, we had the privilege of hosting the Former Federal Trade Commissioner Terry Calvani for his insightful presentation on “Has the Era of ‘Antitrust as Applied Industrial Organization Economics’ Come to an End?—The Dismal Science & the New Progressives.” Reflecting upon this year, we are excited to look back at all we have accomplished and feel inspired by the momentum we are bringing into 2024.
