We appreciate your support, today, and every day.
Your gifts allow us to offer students extracurricular experiences that support their intellectual, vocational, and creative development – including paid internships, Canterbury fellowships, research and creative collaborations with faculty, interacting with visiting visiting writers and scholars, and opportunities to present their original work at conferences, and more – complementing the experiences with literature, cultural studies, professional writing, creative writing, and film studies students get in their coursework. Gifts also make possible extracurricular events that extend students’ learning beyond the classroom and build community, such as the Bronco Slam and Jam poetry series featuring SCU student performers; the Writing Forward Reading Series, which this year has featured award-winning poets John Sibley, Rachelle Escamilla, Marcelo Hernandez Castillo, Naomi Quiñonez, and Matt Sedillo; and student-led events organized by English majors and minors through the English Club.
Our students engage in learning that prepares them for success in the arts, education, technology, policy, business, law, and many other fields, serving our communities here in Silicon Valley and throughout the world. We are especially proud when our students measure their success after they graduate by how much they can give back to make the world a better place.
The classroom and extracurricular experiences that enable these student outcomes wouldn't be possible without the support of people like YOU! Your gift ensures that we can continue to provide first-class learning experiences and offer the fulfilling experiences that transform our students into the leaders of tomorrow.
