Support our student researchers!
Western Psychology Conference for Undergraduate Research (St. Mary’s College, 2023)
The Psychology Department uses your gifts to help our students, primarily by supporting their ability to collaborate with faculty members in their research programs and to present their work in scientific venues. For example, in past years we have provided thousands of dollars for students in the REAL program to allow them to conduct research and engage in internships over the summer with some financial help when doing so. We also help students with conference registration fees and travel expenses. Last year, fifteen of our students were able to attend the Western Psychological Undergraduate Research Conference at St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA. The conference featured research from students from schools across the Bay Area, and a keynote address from the Cal State East Bay Aphasia Treatment Program. Three poster presenters from SCU won outstanding poster awards! They were: Hanna Muse and Gabby Mangano from Dr. Jui Bhagwat’s lab, Sean Do from Dr. Lindsay Halladay’s lab, and Kerri Lyons also from Dr. Lindsay Halladay’s lab.
We appreciate your generosity in helping us to give our undergraduates these meaningful high-impact experiences!

"I worked with Mikayla Apodaca '23 and her REAL funded project looking at coping strategies for siblings who have a sibling dying or has died from brain cancer. She worked with a national foundation to secure research participants to survey and offered small gift card tokens of thanks for participants completing the survey materials. Thank you to our donors for making this possible!"
