Milestone reunions are a special time to reflect and reconnect over shared SCU experiences. They are also a time to invest in current and future Broncos. With two sets of reunion classes gathering this year – those who were not able to celebrate in 2020 and those celebrating in 2021 – your opportunities to support current students are even greater. Below you’ll see the scholarships featured for Day of Giving.
Note: If you do not see a scholarship specific to a reunion class, please click on the giving pull-down menu on this page to discover other giving opportunities.
And remember, if this is a Reunion year for you, your gifts count towards your class’ Reunion totals.
Class of 1960
As we look forward to celebrating our 60th reunion later this year, let’s also remember that we share more than the Bronco spirit—we share a lifetime legacy.
On this Day of Giving, let’s help push our Class of 1960 Endowed Scholarship to our $1M goal. Currently, the fund stands at $877,712. Our gifts today will support fellow Broncos for generations to come, and will also count towards our reunion campaign.
Class of 1984
The Class of 1984 is excited to endow the Bruce Ash Scholarship Fund, in honor of our classmate. With a goal of $100,000, we so far have raised $80,000.
Thanks to a dollar-for-dollar challenge from Jim and Stephanie Kambe, they will match all donations and pledges made today, up to $10,000.
Your donation today can get us over the finish line this Day of Giving. Thanks to you, we’ll be a step closer to having Bruce Ash's memory live on in perpetuity at SCU through scholarships for current Broncos. We can do this, Class of ’84 – give now!
Class of 1986
Named in memory of M. Matson Haley from the class of 1986, the M. Matson Haley Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to help the families of undergraduate alumni meet the need of the cost of tuition at SCU. As the class of 1986 celebrates their 35th reunion this year, this scholarship will recognize students who excel both in the classroom and in extracurricular activities.
Named in memory of Dan McCormick from the Class of '86, The Dan McCormick Technology Fund, through the Ignatian Center, will provide laptops and iPads to underserved children in the community near Santa Clara, in an effort to give them the technology and tools needed to be successful in their education. As of April, 30 iPads for local families in the Washington neighborhood, 20 iPads for the participants in the tutoring program, and 10 chromebook laptops for the participants in the High School Mentorship program had been purchased.
Class of 1991
As an alumnus from the class of 1991, Stacy Ann (Hawes) Melle has been described by classmates, friends and family as inspiring, loving and determined. As the Class of 1991 celebrates its 30th reunion, the Stacy Ann (Hawes) Melle Endowed Scholarship will provide scholarships for undergraduate students with a preference to students within the communication major.
Class of 2000
Friends and Classmates of Tim Riehl, on this Day of Giving, let’s maximize the impact to the Tim Riehl “Big Time” Memorial Scholarship.
Today, if 25 gifts are made to the Tim Riehl “Big Time” Memorial Scholarship then Joe and Merritt (Quisumbing) Anderson will give an additional $10,000.
This scholarship enables Tim’s legacy to continue in perpetuity by supporting fellow Broncos for generations to come. Because of your support, we are excited to share that the first recipient of Tim’s scholarship will start this fall.
Thank you for going all in for SCU.
