Special Assistance Funds

Support SCU Students in Crisis

The COVID pandemic has left some of our students facing extreme financial uncertainty. With off-campus jobs and internships no longer a possibility, some are unable to pay rent, buy food or secure reliable internet access. Your gift of any amount provides emergency financial help, but also offers students the hope and solidarity they need to finish their academic year strong.

All gifts made to the SCU Student Emergency Assistance Fund on the Day of Giving will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $3,000 by Michele Barnett Gaskill ’02!

Support Valued SCU Staff and Faculty

SCU has established the Faculty and Staff Special Assistance Fund to provide University employees affected by the COVID crisis with emergency financial support. Dedicated SCU faculty and staff have been keeping SCU running amidst this new reality. Yet, some are now facing financial hardships. Thank you for your gift of any amount in support of our valued SCU staff and faculty.

Food Insecurity Gift Fund

Nearly 25% of college students experience some degree of food insecurity at some point during their collegiate career. Support is available through the Office of Student Life for students who are experiencing food insecurity - the lack of reliable access to sufficient quantities of affordable, nutritious food. This program is grounded in trust, thus all requesting or referred students will receive assistance.

Through the program, students have the opportunity to gain access to the Bronco Pantry, donated gift cards to local stores, and/or donated SCU dining points. The Bronco Pantry regularly stocks non-perishable food items and fresh produce in partnership with the SCU Forge Garden.

Since the start of this program in Spring 2018, SCU has served over 230 students and has been an essential resource for many during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your generosity will allow for the Food Insecurity program to continue to serve and support some of our most vulnerable Broncos.

All gifts made to the SCU Food Insecurity Program on the Day of Giving will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 by Michele Barnett Gaskill ’02!
