Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries

Santa Clara University’s Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries (GPPM) provides an MA degree and other programs to assist in the training of leaders and ministers to serve parishes and other communities in ministries of accompaniment. Your donation to the GPPM will provide much-needed scholarship opportunities for students who could not otherwise afford the tuition in the various dioceses where our programs are offered. We are a diverse intercultural community that is enriched by learning and journeying together in our response to our call to serve.

"The program helped me see God at work in everything. It pulled back the curtain and opened my eyes and heart."

Yvonne Moreno-Taylor '20

“I am currently the Pastor and the only priest at Santa Teresa Church in San Jose, CA. I was in the very first group that attended the Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries at Santa Clara University. The beauty of the Master’s Program was studying, reflecting, discussing, sharing, and debating church issues and topics with many laywomen and men, active and passionate leaders in parish ministries. We enriched each other. I may be the only priest in my parish, but I am not alone. I have coworkers, collaborators, and companions on the journey thanks to the Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries.

 -Fr. George Aranha

Over the years, the GPPM has been a community and sanctuary. Out in our everyday jobs and activities, we wear many hats and play many roles. But in GPPM, everyone is a brother or a sister, walking the road to Damascus, to Emmaus, to Jericho, to Jerusalem. We are strengthened and encouraged by each other in the work of discipleship. We are the mystical body of Christ, but it is palpable and tangible.
