Equestrian
Go All In For Equestrian!

The Santa Clara University Equestrian Team consists of both competing and non-competing members riding in Hunt Seat Equitation. Our program competes in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. IHSA competitions are based on catch riding, where riders draw a horse that has been provided from the hosting school. The IHSA competition style promotes riders from all skill levels, to compete individually and as teams at regional, zone, and national levels. The team travels to schools within the Zone 8 Region 1 area for competition. Other schools within our region include Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo, Cal State - Monterey Bay, Stanford University, Sonoma State University, University of California at Berkeley, University of California at Davis, University of California at Santa Cruz, and University of Nevada at Reno.

The Santa Clara eq team is my home away from home. My teammates, the coaches, and the horses all mean the world to me. I have met some of my best friends at Santa Clara through the eq team and consequently it is always a good time when we are together. We all put in a lot of hard work and there is no other group of people I would rather spend my time with!”
