Support our student researchers!
Western Psychology Conference for Undergraduate Research (St. Mary’s College, May 2019)
The Psychology Department uses the donations to help our students, primarily by supporting their ability to collaborate with faculty members in their research programs and to present their work in scientific venues. For example, in past years we have provided thousands of dollars for students in the REAL program to allow them to conduct research and engage in internships over the summer with some financial help when doing so. We also help students with conference registration fees and travel expenses. In 2019, we sent over 30 students to the WPCUR meeting hosted by St. Mary’s College in Moraga. In 2022, after we were able to resume in-person attendance, we assisted another 30 students as they traveled to Portland for a professional regional conference to present their work.
We appreciate your generosity in helping us to give our undergraduates these meaningful high-impact experiences!

"My Culture Impacts Emotion Lab uses funds we receive to support students who continue to work on research over the summer through the REAL program. We have also received specific funds for students to present at conferences and to purchase software with which we analyze emotional facial expressions in images and videos."
