Kids on Campus has cared for SCU's youngest Broncos for over 50 years!
The outdoor environment is a natural laboratory for a child’s physical growth and cognitive development. We know that children are more engaged when they are learning outdoors and that playing outside promotes curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Sadly, in January 2023, one of our favorite outdoor features fell victim to the atmospheric river event that struck the Bay Area. Our mulberry tree, the backdrop for many sweet moments, was damaged and unable to be saved so we lost our biggest and most beautiful source of shade on our yard.
This year, our goal is to raise funds for a new permanent shade structure for our blacktop area. Since the weather has been more extreme in recent years, our students and staff will definitely need an extra layer of protection when outdoors on those warmer sunny days. The Day of Giving 2023 funds will enable us to provide a safer outdoor learning environment for our youngest Broncos and much needed shade!
Kids on Campus is a non-profit child development center that serves children between the ages of ten weeks and six years of age. We promote self-reliance, creativity, respect for the rights of others, and positive self-esteem for each child.
