Into The Wild is Santa Clara's completely student run outdoor club. Each year we take over 1000 students all across California, ranging from Joshua Tree National Park to Yosemite National Park and everything in between. This year our four Spring Break trips are taking 45 students across the Southwestern US, backcountry skiing in Idaho, and kayaking in the Channel Islands. Into The Wild's mission is providing students, faculty, and staff with affordable, sober, and educational opportunities to explore and learn about the beautiful wilderness of California and beyond. We strive to build community on our trips that continues on campus, and can proudly say that many friendships and appreciation for nature has started with an Into The Wild trip.
Gifts to Into The Wild will go directly towards making trips even more affordable and accessible to all. It is our goal for all Santa Clara students to have the opportunity to join us on an Into The Wild trip, and any donations will help us on our way to accomplishing that!
Though Into the Wild was not the sole reason I chose to come to Santa Clara, it was a determining factor in my college decision. Since coming to campus, Into the Wild has given me the opportunity to grow as a person of strength, compassion, and integrity. I have gone on adventures greater than I could have ever foreseen, and I have met people I trust and respect more than any others I have known. – Kirsten Dodroe, ‘20
