“These are times where lawyers are needed more than ever before to fight for our marginalized communities and be a force for justice and social change. Many of the non-profits where our students work would not be able to operate without the students participation. This work is vital and our students need the financial support."
—Director of the Center for Social Justice Ellen Kreitzberg
The Center for Social Justice (CSJ) provides students with a legal education that instills a commitment to social justice, public interest, and public service. While not all attorneys specialize in this area, the opportunity to serve others is an important experience in legal education. Social Justice is more than what you do… it is about who you are. And at Santa Clara we are training lawyers to be competent and compassionate. The Center helps to build a community for students, faculty, lawyers, and others who share a commitment to support marginalized, subordinated, or underrepresented clients and causes.
These advancements would not be possible without you, our loyal supporters, alumni, and friends. Together, we can accomplish a great deal for our students as we promote justice in the service of others.
On March 4th, support the important work being done by the Center for Social Justice.
Today, we are asking for your support for our public interest summer grants. Every donation today will go directly to a student who is working full time at a public interest job for no pay. Last summer we awarded more than 40 public interest summer grants.
A donation of $5,000 allows you to name the 2020 summer grant in someone’s honor or memory.
On the Day of Giving, make an impact for future alumni of Santa Clara Law!
