Somos Familia: Fostering Latiné Excellence Through Community, Culture, and Connection

From our Co-Chair, Francisco Campoy: “The Latiné Student Union is more than a student organization – we are a familia that comes together to uplift and empower our community at Santa Clara University. Your generosity will directly support our mission to support academic excellence that is rooted in cultural pride.”

Your support will allow us to fully realize our annual Cultural Showcase, hosted and coordinated entirely by students, which celebrates the diverse identities, accomplishments, and heritage of Latiné communities. It will help us sustain our weekly general meetings where we cultivate and strengthen community through activities our general members participate in free of charge because we believe community should be accessible to anyone and everyone regardless of their status. Your generosity powers our EmpowerED initiative promoting access to higher education within underrepresented communities in collaboration with the SCU Office of Undergraduate Admissions, we bring together high school students from the surrounding area and provide them with insights to college life, academics, and financial aid.

At the heart of LSU is our commitment to academic achievement through community strength. Our annual alumni networking gala is a testament to this since we bring together previous generations of SCU Latiné students to meet, impart wisdom, and bond with current students. This event has allowed us to show current students their potential futures, inspire them to continue to strive for success, all while celebrating and honoring our culture and community.

Through choosing to support LSU, you will invest in helping to pave the pathway for Latiné students to become the leaders of tomorrow. Your contributions will allow us to continue to maintain an environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their full academic potential.
