Support SCU Anthropology!
Challenge Alert: If the Dr. Michelle Bezanson Student Research fund and the Anthropology Department receive a combined total of at least $5,000 on Day of Giving, the Kobayashi family will make a $5,000 gift to the Dr. Michelle Bezanson Student Research fund.
This year, all gifts to the Department of Anthropology will directly support student research experiences. Through a generous $5000 challenge grant from the Kobayashi family, we are focusing our efforts on the 2025 Day of Giving to endow the Michelle Bezanson Anthropology Student Research Fund. Last April, our Department lost Dr. Michelle Bezanson, a renowned primatologist, biological anthropologist, and teacher. Michelle inspired her students to embrace field research and ethics and encouraged them to take those technical and life skills into their future endeavors.
Our Department established this fund as a permanent source of support for Santa Clara undergraduates majoring or minoring in Anthropology so that they can participate in field research, conduct studies in conservation, or explore public-facing and creative forms of scientific communication. Join us in honoring Dr. Bezanson's memory and meeting our challenge grant by donating to the Michelle Bezanson Anthropology Research Fund. Your gift will transform Anthropology undergraduate students' experiences at SCU and beyond!
