Center for Teaching Excellence

Support educational excellence at SCU!

Beginning in Fall 2025, the Center for Teaching Excellence will be a hub of resources and support for SCU educators, including faculty, graduate students, and instructional staff. Under the leadership of the Associate Provost for Faculty Development and Center Director, we will unveil a center that showcases our distinctive pedagogical values, grounded in the Ignatian tradition and its commitment to transforming the world through teaching. With this center, we will build on our existing reputation for excellent teaching to become a trusted resource for teaching and learning resources, programming and pedagogical research not only at SCU but for our peer institutions as well.

Your contribution to the Center for Teaching Excellence will support:

- new educational development programming to help faculty leverage recent evidence-based teaching practices

- support for student engagement with teaching and learning programming through collaborations, consultations, and feedback about student experiences in our classrooms

- awards and ceremonies to celebrate teaching excellence

- the development of videos and other digital resources to share with educators everywhere
